Indy airport announces Alaska Airlines will bring nonstop flight to Seattle

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Airport Authority announced Alaska Airlines will bring a nonstop flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Representatives from Mayor Joe Hogsett’s office, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the IAA leadership and board were at the meeting.

“Today’s announcement has been more than two years in the making, and the result of collaboration among a number of community partners, all focused on giving Indianapolis a direct connection with a vibrant industry sector in the Pacific Northwest, and a highly anticipated leisure-travel option,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the IAA.

The new nonstop service is the first year-round flight to Seattle in Indy’s airport.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 3.

The first flight will take off on May 17, 2017.

The Alaska Airlines flights will operate on a daily basis and fly nonstop between Indianapolis International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
