Indy volunteers strive to engage neighborhoods
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Volunteers started early on Saturday morning to clean up some of the neighborhoods in the city.
The Benedict Inn was part of the clean up, organized as a service event called ‘Indy Do Day.’
The group was created two years ago to help residents take ownership of their neighborhoods and take care of their neighbors.
“Being able to help make Indianapolis one of the most civically minded cities in the community is just important. When we help each other, we all are better and then everyone else around us is better off for it,” said Ramona Adams, the Vice President of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis.
Officials estimated that 20 volunteers showed up on Saturday.
