INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – A fashion and design shop in the Broad Ripple neighborhood in Indianapolis, has converted its business model to create face masks. Erin Young Designs, which was approached in March to create a mask prototype and produce masks for its employees, is now selling CDC-compliant masks to the public.

Young has created three different prototypes, and Young and her team are producing and selling masks in various fabric options for consumer purchase.

Young says the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social distancing measures have affected the business’s in-person client designs and consultations.

“We’re anticipating that masks will become a new staple,” said Young. “Our team put our creative energy towards creating three unique mask styles in a variety of fabrics in order to provide an effective, locally-made option that is also breathable, comfortable, and sustainable.”

All EYD face masks are made with two layers of high thread count, and are 100% cotton. Young says the masks come equipped with a slip opening to insert a disposable filter.
