Manning nominated for football hall of fame

CANTON, Ohio (Inside INdiana Business) — Several former Indianapolis Colts players have been nominated for the 2021 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Among the 14 first-year eligible nominees is former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.

A total of 130 players have been nominated for the hall of fame, including 65 offensive players, 49 defensive players and 16 special teams players. 

In addition to Manning, the former Colts on the list include Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday, Bob Sanders, and Rohn Stark. Last year, Reggie Wayne was a finalist for the hall of fame.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame says the modern-era nominees will be whittled down to 25 semifinalists in November and further to 15 finalists in January.

The 15 finalists will join senior finalist Drew Pearson, contributor finalist Bill Nunn and coach finalist Tom Flores. The 2021 inductees will be chosen by the 48-member Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee on February 6.

The Class of 2021 will be officially inducted at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on August 8.
