MetroNet acquires Jaguar Communications

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – An Evansville-based fiber-optic internet, TV and phone service provider has acquired Jaguar Communications in Minnesota. MetroNet says the combination of the two companies allows it to expand its ultra-high-speed fiber optic footprint to residential and business customers across the Midwest.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. MetroNet says the transaction was completed on July 1.

“Jaguar Communications shares our vision of providing customer-focused, fiber optic telecommunication services to homes and businesses,” said MetroNet President John Cinelli. “As we grow our fiber optic network in Minnesota, Jaguar Communications is a perfect fit. We look forward to fully integrating as a company, and we welcome them into the MetroNet family.”

MetroNet says the acquisition also allows it to leverage Jaguar’s fiber optic infrastructure to provide its markets with MetroNet’s products. The company plans to invest an additional $150 million to grow the Minnesota market and expand services to additional communities.

The companies are expected to fully integrate under the MetroNet brand later this year and will integrate all MetroNet product line features in 2021.
