Purdue ag-celerator awards $100k to startups

West Lafayette, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Purdue Ag-celerator has awarded a total of $100,000 to two plant science startups for its fall round of investments. Managing director of Purdue Ventures John Hanak said the fund, now in its fifth year, aims to support Purdue agricultural entrepreneurs and help them to commercialize their innovations.

West Lafayette- based wine tech startup VinSense and Carmel-based Karyosoft, a genomics data analytics company, presented their technology to the Ag-celerator Selection Committee, comprised of entrepreneurial and industry professionals.

Both startups received $50,000 in funding each.

“We are honored and privileged to win this competitive and prestigious competition focused on novel innovations impacting agriculture,” said Rajesh Perianayagam, founder and chief executive officer of Karyosoft. “This investment will help us to reach the next milestones in our sales and marketing effort by amplifying visibility and broadening and deepening the sales funnel to generate revenue.”
