Lady Antebellum singer assesses tour bus damage

GARLAND (WJBF) — Country singer Hillary Scott had a rough morning on her way to Arlington for this weekend’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

The Lady Antebellum front-woman posted a picture of her tour bus that caught fire with the caption:

“Hey guys, we had a crazy morning on the way to Dallas today. Our bus tire caught on fire and we had to evacuate very quickly. EVERYONE IS SAFE AND SOUND. It was me, my husband, our tour manager, and driver. Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all of those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe. Love you all!!!! ~hillary”

Police confirmed a tour bus caught fire on westbound Interstate 30 near Dalrock Road in Garland Thursday morning.

Traffic was backed up on I-30. Like Scott stated in her post, there were no injuries.

The tour manager at the scene said that a tire blew, which started the fire.

After the fire Scott checked out the bus to see the damage. She posted on her Facebook page that several of her personal items in the back of the bus were destroyed. But one thing that remained untouched was her Bible.
