2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s implements changes due to pandemic, to look different

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Like many fundraising events this year, the pandemic has forced a major, annual fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease in Indianapolis to change.

The 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s is set for Oct. 3.

The Indiana chapter executive from the Indiana Alzheimer’s Association Natalie Sutton was on Daybreak Thursday.

She discussed several of those changes to this year’s fundraiser, which includes no large in-person gatherings. Instead, the organization is asking participants to walk together in small teams and watch their opening and Promis Garden Ceremony online.

Also, News 8 meteorologist Tara Hastings shared how Alzheimer’s disease has touched her life and why the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is important to her.
