INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis-based Ambrose Property Group has broken ground on a new logistics park on the east side of Indianapolis on land where the massive International Harvester and Navistar complex once stood.

The Indianapolis Central Logistics Park is a 93-acre parcel and will include three buildings. Ambrose says plans on the initial structure call for a 616,000-square foot speculative building that could house a logistics or a light manufacturing business.

“After sitting dormant for more than five years, we are excited to breath new life into this site,” said Grant Goldman, Ambrose executive vice president of development. “We look forward to working with neighborhood partners and the City of Indianapolis as we redevelop this site and bring jobs and economic opportunities to the area.”

The developer says Building 1 could be expanded up to 1.2 million square feet. Ambrose says it intends to seek LEED Silver certification, based on construction plans.
