Drive-thru clinic to offer free flu shots for veterans

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Veterans in Indiana will have the opportunity to get a flu shot free of charge.

Veteran Health Indiana has announced that they will give veterans in the Hoosier state free flu shots beginning in September.

The drive-thru flu shot clinic will take place at the Indy West VA Community Bases Outpatient Clinic at 3850 Shore Drive in Indianapolis from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and then from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Veterans will be able to get a free flu shot on the following dates:

  • Sept. 8
  • Sept. 15
  • Oct. 2
  • Oct. 9
  • Oct. 16
  • Oct. 23
  • Oct. 30
  • Nov. 6
  • Nov. 13
  • Nov. 20

Any veteran looking to get the free flu shot is asked to bring their VA card and wear a short-sleeved shirt.

According to Veteran Health Indiana, the flu vaccine is “more important than ever this year to minimize the risk of illness and possible hospitalization.”
