INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Governor Eric Holcomb and many others are mourning a true local basketball icon.
Ed Siegel was a star player at New Albany and Franklin College who then went on to be one of the winningest coaches in all of Indiana high school basketball history.
He won 400 games, many at Pike High School, where the school’s gym is named for him. He’s also a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
The governor’s tweet of condolences asks all to “take a knee in prayer for the Siegel family.”
