Indy SurviveOars need your help to stay afloat
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — With seven years under their belt, the leaders of Indy SuviveOars, a dragon boat team comprised of breast cancer survivors, are now seeing a need.
Their equipment is aging and in dire need of repair or replacement. On top of that, Captain Sarah Demmon says interest in membership is at an all-time high.
Indy SurviveOars is now reaching out to the community through a GoFundMe page, asking for donations so they can continue to help breast cancer patients not only survive but thrive.
“I just wanted to help every breast cancer survivor. I wanted to offer them something different, not the typical sit around in a circle and woe is me,” said founder, Kathy Harrison.
