2 die in truck-car crash in rural Grant County

UPDATE: The Grant County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the driver of a 2009 Pontiac G8 who died in a Wednesday morning crash as Anthony Pence, 24, of Muncie, state police said.

FOWLERTON, Ind. (WISH) — Two men died in a truck-car crash Wednesday morning in rural Grant County, Indiana State Police said.

Garry Moore, 63, of Elwood, was one of the two men who died in the crash reported shortly before 6 a.m. The other man was inexplicably not identified in a news release from state police.

Police believed a 2009 Pontiac G8 car was going east on State Road 26 near County Road 562 East when a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Moore was going west. For an undetermined reason, police said, the car crossed into the westbound lane and cause a head-on collision with the truck.

Both drivers died at the scene, police said.

The state road was closed as police investigated.
