Man rides wheelchair 49 miles on Monon Trail to honor Orlando victims

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A nationally-known activist was in Indianapolis on Saturday to honor victims of the Orlando massacre.

Richard Propes rode 49 miles on the Monon Trail in his wheelchair — one mile for every victim.

Propes is a paraplegic and double amputee who is also an inspirational speaker.

He said he attended Indy’s Pride Festival the day before the Orlando shooting and decided to do something to honor the victims.

He is also using the trip to raise money for Indiana Youth Group, a local LGBT organization. Click here for more information on the ride.
