Mid-morning fire causes $75,000 in damages, injures one
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Crews were dispatched to a building fire in the 1900 block of Shelby Street.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, crews arrived at the scene just after 7:30 a.m. and began fighting the flames.
Heavy smoke was discovered upon arrival at the scene.
Extra crews were called onto the scene to assist with the fight.
Crews were able to successfully get the fire under control within 25 minutes after arriving on scene.
One fire fighter was slightly injured. They were taken to Eskenazi Hospital to be checked out for slight burns to the ears.
Damage has been estimated at $75,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
