Person shot after drug robbery on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was shot on the city’s south side Sunday evening, according to police.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was shot during a drug robbery. The suspects asked the victim where the cash and drugs were, police said.

The incident happened in the 4200 block of Burkhart Drive around 8:45 p.m. That’s off of Hanna Avenue and Meridian Street.

Police said the victim was awake and breathing. At this time the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
