Person struck by car, in critical condition
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A person was taken to the hospital Friday morning after a car struck them on the northwest side.
Police responded to a pedestrian struck around 6 a.m.
It happened near 71st Street and Georgetown Road.
Police say the driver was traveling EB on 71st Street when a pedestrian was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk.
The pedestrian, identified as Tommie Lee, was walking with another man when the man stopped and yelled at Lee to look out because of the oncoming car.
Lee was struck by the car. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
There was extensive damage to the car.
Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash.
