Police investigating the death of Park Tudor head as suicide
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The head of Park Tudor School has died, the school announced Saturday evening.
Dr. Matthew D. Miller was head of school at Park Tudor. He died Saturday.
IMPD is investigating Dr. Miller’s death as a suicide.
“The entire Park Tudor community is deeply saddened by this sudden loss,” Park Tudor School Board of Directors President Rob Brown wrote in a statement. “We ask that you keep Dr. Miller’s family, our students and our community in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
No other information about his death was released.
Miller had been at Park Tudor since July 2011.
According to the school’s website, Miller held a bachelor’s degree in Greek and Latin from Dickinson College. He also graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University, where he studied Greco-Roman literature, history and philosophy.
Additionally, he received a master of arts degree in ancient history and Mediterranean archaeology from the University of California and earned his ED.D. in educational leadership and management at the University of Pennsylvania.
Before arriving at Park Tudor, Miller was the assistant head of school at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
