Program offers free water safety classes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Drowning is the ninth leading cause of death in children ages 14 and under.

Learning to swim and learning water safety techniques significantly reduces the risk of drowning.

One week from Wednesday, children can take part in free water safety classes at 18 different Indy Parks pools.

Maureen Faul was on 24-Hour News 8 at noon Wednesday to explain more. You can watch her interview above.

The free 30-minute classes will be on June 10, 11 and 12 at Indy Parks pools.
