Ribbon cutting ceremony taking place for renaming part of I-65 in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Part of Interstate 65 will be named in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Tuskegee Airmen Highway will stretch from Seymour to Johnson County.

The ribbon cutting is set for Friday at 10 a.m. at the Columbus Municipal Airport.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American pilots in U.S. military history.

Several Indiana natives were part of the group.
