INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A local hardware store said a recent theft from their curbside was not what they had in mind when they implemented curbside pickup during the governor’s hunker down order in response to the current public health crisis.

A spokesperson at the Sullivan Hardware & Garden store located at 6955 N Keystone Ave said two topiaries, multiple bags of mulch, some salt and organic bed soil were recently stolen from the store and the culprit was caught on camera.

Store associates noticed the theft days after it happened when one team member went to decorate the topiaries with Easter eggs. Assuming the items had been purchased, employees looked into the store’s sales and discovered they had in fact been stolen.

The theft occurred Sunday night just before 11 p.m.

Surveillance video captured from security cameras shows a man removing the shrubs from the planters in front of the store and tossing them into the back of the gray SUV he was driving. Several bags of soil and mulch can also be seen in the man’s trunk.

Sullivan Hardware posted the video to their Facebook page asking people if anyone recognized the man.

Altogether the items were worth around $500.
