Warsaw man charged after leading police on chase

WARSAW, Ind. (AP) – A 27-year-old Warsaw man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he beat his ex-wife and led police on a high-speed chase.

Ryan Paul Nicholas Rautenberg has been charged with fleeing/resisting law enforcement and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Additional felony charges of residential entry by force and domestic battery are pending.

Police say Rautenberg forced his way into his ex-wife’s home early Sunday morning and beat her in front of their two children. He had already driven away when police arrived and the woman told them he appeared to be severely intoxicated.

Rautenberg refused to pull over during an attempted traffic stop and a police pursuit ensued. He was arrested and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Rautenberg has an attorney.
