Death of Terre Haute inmate ruled a homicide
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The FBI has been called in to investigate the death of an inmate at the Federal Correction Complex in Terre Haute.
The Public Information Officer from the facility reports the inmate, Michael Tucker, was found unresponsive in his cell on Jan. 28.
Tucker was pronounced dead by the coroner at 10:45 a.m.
Dr. Susan Amos, Vigo County Coroner, said Tuesday afternoon that his death is being ruled a homicide. They are still waiting on toxicology results and cannot comment any further while it is under investigation.
Tucker was 23, serving a sentence of 384 months for brandishing a firearm during a crime or felony violence. He had been an inmate in Terre Haute since April 7, 2015.
