Man in custody after firing shot at Lafayette officer
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — One man is in custody after police said he shot at an officer.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of 30 Concho Court in Lafayette when officers were dispatched out to a call of a man with a gun.
Upon arrival, 45-year-old Loren Gary fired a single shot at an officer from his handgun. The bullet struck the officer’s vehicle.
Gary was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, intimidation, pointing a firearm, criminal recklessness and public intoxication.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
