Bashiri Asad…has a new ‘Lady?’

Bashiri Asad blends jazz, soul, R&B, funk, and indie jazz to create a unique sound he calls “IndySoul.”

In early February, the popular Indianapolis-based singer will release his new album, “Bashiri Asad: Live from Somewhere.”

As for the new addition to his band, “The Lady?” It’s the name of the group that now accompanies the singer. Asad has big goals for 2021: “I’m looking to expand my brand as an artist and entertainer beyond Indianapolis, comfortably.”

Asad performs with Taj St. Helene (bass); Fred Dixie Jr. (piano); and DaVon McClung (drums).
