INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Every Saturday WISH-TV highlights a local company, together with our partners at Indiana Grown.

This week, Lalith Guy Paranavitana from Empire Tea stopped by Daybreak to talk about the different types of teas the company has for customers to purchase.

Paranavitana said the ingredients in the tea are grown in Sri Lanka and other countries, it’s then imported here to the U.S.

“I wish I could grow tea here, but the weather is not conducive to that,” said Paranavitana. “I use my talents and skills to bring tea from various parts of the world.”

Empire Tea is based in Columbus, Ind., and has been open for more than 20 years. The company has a selection of around 200 different types of teas including iced teas and blended teas.
