Step into Ford’s Research and Innovation Center to find out the Future of Transportation and Innovation

The number one fear for Americans used to be public speaking… but now? It’s other people driving dangerously.

New research by the Ford Motor Company revealed that’s the top fear for Millennials and Generation Z. The automaker is taking notice…and developing technology that will not only transform the way we drive, but also give us peace of mind. Digital Lifestyle Expert Mario Armstrong joins us from the new Ford’s Research & Innovation Center in Palo Alto to give us an insider’s look.

Mario discusses the impact of future megacities and look at some of the innovative mobility experiments Ford is developing at the lab, the future of “self-driving cars”, what Ford technologies can help you drive better today, and the differences between how Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z think about vehicles including what new stat has millennials more fearful than public speaking.

Topics include:

InfoCycle: For this experiment Ford added sensors to a bike which collects data and allows engineers to learn about the bike’s environment as it’s moving – such as how bikes and vehicles share the road.

Remote Parking Car: imagine a car that parks itself with no one behind the wheel and we’ll show you how it’s done.

Brand New app for Apple Watch: How new apps can connect with your vehicle and make driving easier.

Pro-Trailer Backup Assist: A semi-autonomous feature and segment-first technology available in the 2016 F-150, this makes the challenge of backing up a trailer easier than ever by letting the customer steer the trailer with a control knob while the truck steers its wheels and limits vehicle speed.

SYNC3: A look at how in-vehicle communication and entertainment systems are just like our smartphones.
