Anderson woman found dead on floor of bedroom with gunshot wound

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — An Anderson woman was found dead on the floor of her bedroom with a gunshot wound Tuesday night, Anderson Police Department said Wednesday.

Police say Andrea Aguirre, 37, was found in the 2900 block of East 5th Street by her estranged husband, who went to check on Aguirre and their children because he couldn’t get in touch with her.

The children are safe and with family, according to police.

An investigation by the Madison County Coroner’s Office is ongoing.
