Man dies in shooting at gas station on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person was found dead Monday afternoon on the city’s northeast side.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a Sunoco gas station at the intersection of 38th Street and Post Road, around 2:36 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

They arrived to find a person who was deceased, IMPD said.

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Donavan Barnett.

No additional information about the circumstances surrounding the person’s death was immediately available.
