JASPER, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Jasper-based Kimball International Inc. (Nasdaq: KBAL) has announced plans for an expansion of its warehousing operations. The commercial furnishings company says it will build a 220,000-square-foot warehouse building at its industrial campus in the Dubois County city and add about 10 jobs.

Kimball says the new building will connect to its existing 150,000-square-foot warehouse. The facility is designed to optimize the company’s warehousing and distribution operations.

“Jasper is home to our corporate headquarters, three manufacturing operations, and our current warehouse,” Greg Meunier, executive vice president of global operations at Kimball International, said in a news release. “We’re always looking for ways to better serve our customers in an increasingly competitive market, and this state-of-the-art facility will help optimize our warehouse operations and provide more efficient transportation and logistics, with adjacent truck and trailer parking and easy access to I-64.”

The new building is slated for completion in September of 2022. Kimball did not specify how much it is investing in the project, but says it will leave additional expansion capabilities for the future.

Kimball International currently employs more than 2,800 people around the world and 66 in its Jasper warehouse operations.
