Juvenile driver critically injured in Warren County crash after fleeing police

CARBONDALE, Ind. (WISH) — A juvenile is in critical condition after a police pursuit ended with a crash in Warren County Wednesday night, Indiana State Police said. 

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on US 41 southbound near County Road 550 North near Carbondale. The crash stemmed from a vehicle pursuit that was initiated by the Boswell Police Department. 

Police attempted to pull the juvenile over for a traffic violation.The juvenile failed to stop the 2006 black Chevrolet Equinox he was driving, Indiana State Police said. 

The pursuit continued into Warren County where the vehicle crashed and the juvenile was critically injured. 

He was flown to a hospital in Champaign to be treated for his injuries. Police have not released the age of the juvenile.
