Fourth of July bicycle parade will be part of #BackyardBrickyard festivities in Speedway

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — Speedway residents can join in on a Fourth of July bicycle parade as part of Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s #BackyardBrickyard festivities.

The parade will be held Saturday, July 4 from 11:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and the route will follow the bicycle path from Community Health Pavilion at 1011 N. in Speedway to the Fundae’s Ice Cream and Sweets at 1515 North Main St.

Participants of all ages are welcome to take part in the festivities and are encouraged to decorate their bicycles with red, white and blue decorations.

The full schedule is listed below:

  • Kids ages 0-5 – Meet at 11:15 a.m., parade begins at 11:30 a.m.
  • Kids ages 6-10 – Meet at 11:30 a.m., parade begins at 11:45 a.m.
  • Kids ages 11-15 – Meet at 11:45 a.m., parade begins at Noon
  • Kids at Heart (16+) – Meet at noon, parade begins at 12:15 p.m.

One winner from each group will be selected and will receive a $25 gift card to Fundae’s Ice Cream and Sweets. Participants are also encouraged to practice social distancing.
