How to get mental health care

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Studies show mental health issues are soaring, in part due to increased stress and anxiety amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Danielle Henderson, a clinical psychologist at IU Health, explained when and how individuals should initiate therapy or mental health care.

“If you’re noticing you’re worrying a lot about a lot of different things, irritability, changes in your mood in any way, feeling sad or hopeless or down, also things to think about and look for are changes in your appetite,” said Henderson.

Henderson said if you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or substance abuse, you should seek help.
