Sheriff: 18-year-old found fatally shot in Miami County home

PERU, Ind. (WISH) — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an 18-year-old found fatally shot in a Peru home. 

Around 7:18 a.m. Sunday someone called Miami County emergency dispatch to report a person shot and deceased at a residence in the 3100 block of North Mexico Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office and state police arrived to find 18-year-old Nathan Joe Hopper with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. 

State police, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and the Miami County Coroner’s Office were investigating the man’s death on Sunday.
