Salin Bank robbed twice in 2 weeks in Carroll County

FLORA, Ind. (WLFI) – Law enforcement agencies are searching for two men wanted in connection to an armed bank robbery in Carroll County.

The robbery occurred around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Salin Bank on West Columbia Street in Flora. Indiana State Police said two men walked into the bank through the front door and approached the tellers. They displayed a gun and demanded money. The men got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

State police said the men fled the bank and exited the area in a waiting vehicle, possibly a black Jeep Cherokee. Police said they fled heading south on State Road 75. A third person may possibly be involved as a get-away driver.

This is the second robbery at this Salin Bank location within two weeks, the first of which happened on Feb. 4. Authorities released surveillance photos of the two men they are searching for in connection to the previous robbery.

Police said Thursday’s armed robbery suspects used the same strategy as the first incident. They believe the people involved may be connected to both incidents. Law enforcement is still working to release surveillance photos of today’s robbery.

However, ISP released other descriptive information. One man was wearing black pants with orange shorts underneath. The other person was wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt. Both men were wearing masks and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Flora Police Department at 574-967-4457 or use the WeTip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.

State police said the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
