Two injured after vehicle runs into Columbus home
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Two people were injured after a vehicle ran into a home in Columbus.
According to Columbus Police, the incident happened Friday around 1:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of 24th Street in Columbus.
Police go on to say that the homeowner, Gregory Shipley, was inside the house at the time. Shipley told police that a damaged wall fell on top of him and he ended underneath the vehicle.
The driver of the 2007 Dodge Ram Truck that went into the house, Paul Matney, said he was attempting to back out of a parking spot across the street when the gas pedal got stuck.
Police say Shipley was treated at the scene for minor injuries. However, Matney was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the accident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
