Cool and quiet today; Wintry weather to end week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Chilly but quiet start to the morning. Temperatures are running 10° cooler compared to Tuesday morning but the morning starts with more sunshine and less wind! Wednesday afternoon temperatures will slowly warm to the lower 50s. Wednesday night will cool quickly with lows plummeting to the lower 30s and upper 20s!

Indianapolis (WISH)

Chilly start to Thursday morning with sunshine and cloud. Next low pressure system will swing through the state late in the day. Highs will struggle during the day as highs only warm to the mid 40s. Rain begins to spread in late Thursday and will continue to fall as rain through the remainder of the evening. Colder air will move in and will transition rain to a rain snow mix then eventually snow flurries to start the morning Friday. Snow showers will tapper out by noon with isolated flurries possible during the afternoon and evening. Not expecting much accumulation with this, in fact most areas remain under a half inch. Most will wake up to a coating on grassy surfaces.

This weekend will be cooler with highs in the 30s come Saturday. There could be a light snow flurry early Saturday morning which will quickly move out resulting in a mostly sunny afternoon. Highs in the Sunday make a brief warm up to the lower 40s with lots of clouds.

Next week a cold snap arrives with our next weather maker late Monday. A wintry mix late Monday and through the overnight will transition any rain to snow. Temperatures Tuesday morning could dip to the teens with wind chills in the single digits.
