Summer heat streak continues the next eight days

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Happy Friday, everyone! We’re off to a pretty nice start this morning. Temperatures will sink into the low 60s for your Friday commute.

One issue we’ve seen in northeastern Indiana this morning has been fog. It’s patchy, but a Dense fog Advisory is in place for our north-easternmost communities through 10am.

Temperatures will climb quickly with a mix of sun and clouds.

We’ll top out in the mid 80s in most areas this afternoon. Stay cool!

The Zone high school football forecast is much better than last week, albeit mild. Temperatures will only drop into the mid 70s from the low 80s, pregame.

Overnight lows will slowly sink into the mid 60s. Patchy fog is possible Saturday morning, but it will be more miss than hit.

Saturday afternoon, expect a mix of sun and clouds, haze and heat as temps rise into the mid 80s.

If you’re heading to the Ball State v. IU game in Bloomington, the weather will be much better than it was last weekend.

Hurricane Florence is close to making landfall this morning along the North Carolina coast.

The storm has weakened to a category 1 hurricane, but winds were never the biggest issue with this storm. It has slowed to a crawl and will continue to dump a huge amount of rain on the Carolinas this weekend.

Florence looks to move just to our east by early next week, but it will still bring at least a chance for a few isolated showers, a brief cool down and breezy conditions as we head into the work week.

Before we get there, our weekend will be hot, but a nice one, so get out and enjoy it.

Temperatures look to remain scorching hot through most of the next 8 days.

There are hints that a cool down may spread our way next weekend, so we’ll have to be patient.
