WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino dies at 82
PITTSBURGH, PA (WOWK) — WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino has died at the age of 82.

According to KDKA, Sanmmartino passed away peacefully after battling health issues for the past several months with his wife and two kids by his side.

According to the WWE, Sammartino defeated Buddy Rogers in 1963 to become the second-ever WWE Champion. He held the title for eight years, which is still a record.

Sammartino was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
KDKA says that Sammartino was born in Italy but made his home in Pittsburgh for all of his adult life.
