2 teens, 14 and 17, arrested in Lawrence fatal shooting
LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – Two teenagers have been taken into custody for a fatal Lawrence shooting, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
Police initially responded to the area of Boy Scout Road and 56th Street at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 for a report of shots fired inside a car that was driving southbound on Boy Scout Road.
However, police now say they believe the shots were fired from a second vehicle, in which the 14 and 17-year-old suspects were occupying at the time.
The victim,18-year-old Domanic Jones, was transported to the hospital in critical but later died as a result of his injuries.
Police believe that the two suspects knew of or were known by the victim.
The 14-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested Friday morning. Both face a preliminary charge of murder.
