2 wanted in Texas arrested at Terre Haute motel

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Two people wanted on charges out of Maine and Texas were arrested Monday morning at a Terre Haute motel.

While assisting the U.S. Marshal Service, Indiana State Police were led to a Terre Haute motel in regards to two people wanted for crimes outside the state of Indiana. At 11:30 a.m. they took both into custody without incident and their 9-month-old daughter was taken into the custody of the Vigo County Child Protective Services.

Robert Mounts, 48 of Texas, was wanted on charges out of Texas including unauthorized use of a vehicle and credit/debit cards, abuse of the elderly and criminal mischief. He was also wanted on a charge of unlawful sexual contact with a minor out of Maine.

Ashley Nicole Lewis, 29 of Texas, was wanted on charges including unauthorized use of a vehicle and credit/debit cards, abuse of the elderly and criminal mischief.

Both Mounts and Lewis were taken to the Vigo County Jail. Since neither have connections to Terre Haute no additional local charges were filed.

The pair is also allegedly wanted for questioning in other crimes in the Jasper County, Texas area.
