Crawfordsville man arrrested after meth lab found in trunk

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A Crawfordsville man was arrested after West Lafayette police found an active meth lab during a traffic stop.

Police arrested 47-year-old Richard Wetter after he was pulled over early Tuesday morning at Northwestern and Stadium avenues.

He is facing charges of Operating While Intoxicated and possession of and dealing methamphetamine. Police say Wetter also had an active warrant out of Montgomery County.

The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression team was called in after police spotted what they believed was an active meth lab in the vehicle’s trunk.

Three other people were in the car, but none of them are facing criminal charges.

More charges could be pending for Wetter.
