Indiana’s first free fishing day of 2019 is April 20

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The first of four Indiana Free Fishing Days was announced Friday. 

The state Department of Natural Resources said Indiana residents will be able to fish public waters without a fishing license or a salmon/trout stamp on April 20.

Several fishing events will be held across the state April 20 in recognition of the day. 

St. Patrick’s County park in South Bend will be holding a Women’s Learn to Fish workshop from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

A Family learn to Fish workshop will also be held at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Seymour. Indiana State Parks will also be hosting Free Fishing Day events. Click here for a full list. 

Hoosiers will be able to enjoy three more free fishing days this year: May 18, June 1 and June 2.
