ELKHART, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — An Elkhart-based nonprofit is expanding into a larger facility thanks to a $4.5 million capital campaign. RETA Pregnancy Clinic & Family Resources says it has outgrown its current, four-story location and says the new facility will allow it to provide more services to expectant mothers and families.

RETA is a faith-based nonprofit that provides free pregnancy testing, first-trimester ultrasound, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy loss support and parent coaching services, among others. The nonprofit acquired the former Martin’s Pet & Garden building in Elkhart and plans to use $3.4 million of the campaign funds to renovate the facility.

“This new facility will allow our existing services to achieve their full potential, reaching new clients and providing for future expansion goals,” the organization says. “With one quarter of women not receiving women’s health care or prenatal care due to finances or insurance, which is more than 11,000 women in this community, our new facility will provide the space to begin GYN services and eventually OB services, seeing these women on our medical side throughout their pregnancy.”

The campaign is currently less than $200,000 shy of its $4.5 million goal, according to the RETA website
