Walmart to open COVID testing sites
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Walmart (NYSE: WMT) says it is preparing to open six COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites throughout Indiana this week. The company says the sites are supported by Texas-based eTrueNorth as well as state and local officials.
Walmart says its tests are only for individuals who meet Center for Disease Control, as well as state and local guidelines regarding who should be tested. Those groups include first responders, healthcare providers and those with COVID-19 symptoms as well as those in high risk groups without symptoms.

- Greenwood Walmart, 1133 N Emerson Ave Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143
- Paoli Walmart, 735 N Gospel St, Paoli, IN 47454
Starting Friday, Walmart says the sites will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Individuals need to confirm eligibility and register an appointment before getting tested.
“Walmart is part of the community, and we are proud to help support the expansion of COVID-19 testing for Hoosiers during this unprecedented time,” said Kevin Thompson, Walmart public affairs director for Indiana. “We are grateful to our associates who keep our stores running, our pharmacists who support these testing sites, and to eTrueNorth and local officials as we work together to open the sites and help our community.”
Walmart says anyone receiving a test needs to wear a mask and stay in their cars, and walk-up testing will not be available.
The sites will use self-administered nasal swab tests observed by a trained medical volunteer to ensure samples are taken correctly.
