June was 7th wettest in Indy history

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — June is in the books and National Weather Service says it was one of the wettest months in history.

The National Weather Service office in Indianapolis only saw a trace of rain Tuesday, which means that we officially ended up with 8.36 inches of rain for the month of June. This makes 2015 the 7th wettest June on record.

Indianapolis was only 0.13 inches away from moving into 6th place. The record for the month is 12.21 inches set back in 1875.

The excessive rain has taken a toll on central Indiana crops. As of June 28, 21% of Indiana’s corn crops were rated in Poor or Very Poor condition.”
