Fast food company awards Greenfield student $5,000 in scholarship

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Fast food may get a bad reputation but it’s helping students pay for their college.

The Burger King Foundation awarded Sharray Jones, of Greenfield, a $5,000 Midwest Region Award at a surprise event on Thursday. Jones received this scholarship at the Burger King in Greenfield, where she is an employee.

The Burger King Foundation Scholarship program awards deserving high school students and BK employees throughout the U.S. and Canada. Students are selected based on the G.P.A, community service, financial needs, and leadership/work experience.
