Indy’s director of Community Violence Reduction resigns

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Circle City’s director of Community Violence Reduction is resigning from her role, effective Friday, the Office of Mayor Joe Hogsett confirmed Monday.

According to the Mayor’s Office, Shonna Majors established Indy’s first-ever Community Violence Reduction team.

“Shonna Majors has been a critical leader throughout her time with the city … helping introduce national best practices, amplifying grassroots violence reduction and prevention efforts throughout Indianapolis, and more. We are grateful for her dedicated service, which has allowed us to build a strong foundation for significant investments over the next three years,” Hogsett said in a statement.

Majors served as the program’s director for three-and-a-half years, according to LinkedIn.
