Noblesville man arrested for using counterfeit bills

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – One man is in custody after attempting to use counterfeit money, according to the Greenfield Police Department.

On April 10, the GPD say officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy in the 1200 block of North State Street for a report of a person attempting to use counterfeit bills.

After arriving on scene, officers learned that 33-year-old Maxwell Landis used several fake $20 bills in order to make a purchase.

During a subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle, officers found more counterfeit money as well as receipts showing purchases at other Indianapolis-area pharmacies.

Landis faces preliminary charges of counterfeiting and driving while suspended.
