Man arrested for impersonating an officer
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A man accused of impersonating an officer in West Lafayette is out on bond.
West Lafayette Police arrested 23-year-old Justin Ewert on Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and U.S. 231.
An off-duty officer says he saw Ewert driving recklessly in heavy traffic and flashing a white light at other drivers.
When police stopped Ewert, they say they found radio and video systems mounted in the car, as well as handcuffs and a gun.
Ewert is charged with impersonating law enforcement and carrying a handgun without a license.
He bonded out of the Tippecanoe County Jail Friday morning.
